Hey Martijn is het zo dat je ritme 1 kunt zien als 1-ne en 2-je en ritme 2 als 3-je en 4-re?
Ha Amber, als je Basis ritme 3 ziet als een combi van ritme 1 en 2, dan klopt het wat je zegt. Maar eigenlijk tel je basisritme 1 en 2 óók gewoon als 1-e 2-e 3-e 4-e. Alleen, in deze video wilde ik het vooral niet al te ingewikkeld maken en tel ik tot 4 (= kwart noten). Maar dat is technisch gezien dus eigenlijk maar een half ritme... als je begrijpt wat ik bedoel. In mijn boek Drummers Of The Future - Beginner vind je het volledige verhaal! #aanrader ;-)

New drummer here. Love the vid, but a bit lost on the count when you add the bembe beat (rim shot and toms). If I'm counting by 4 triplets (ex: 1-trip-let), does the bembe pattern begin on the 'let' of 1, and the toms hit on the 'trip' and 'let' of two?

Hoi Bonny, van de 150 video's die momenteel online staan op mijn kanaal, zijn er maar een stuk of 10 in het Nederlands. Dus dat valt wel mee hoor. Maar je hebt op zich gelijk: de lessen voor beginners maak ik meestal wél in NL. De belangrijkste reden om dat nu niet te doen is omdat mijn drumboek natuurlijk ook in het Engels verkrijgbaar is. Een video voor de internationale markt dus! Groet M
